EYFS Christmas Performance

As a school, we would have loved to share this year’s Christmas events with you all but unfortunately that has not been possible. The children still wanted to perform some Christmas songs for families and friends this year. You will have received a text message which contains a link to each performance on our secure YouTube channel. Merry Christmas from everyone at St. Joseph’s.

Half termly Isolation Project Task 2020-2021

Reception Isolation Project Tasks – Autumn 1
Rec Isolation Project Autumn 2 – 2020

Welcome to Reception

For Reception pupils and your parents/carers,
Welcome to another new year in school.  I am the delighted and proud class teacher of Reception and I look forward to working with you all over the coming year.  We have lots of fabulous books for you to read and some fascinating topics to learn about.  This year, you will be taught by myself Mrs Quiney, Miss Gill and Miss Searle.
As a team, we look forward to working with all of the pupils in Reception.  All the previous teaching and learning resources are also still on the school website in the COVID-19 update section under the year group name.  We have now uploaded a copy of the annual Curriculum Plan for 2020-2021 and then each half term we are uploading a half termly Isolation Project task supportive learning plan for parents to use at home, if their child needs to isolate.
In the event of your class bubble being sent home for a 14-day isolation period, then I will upload weekly plans with daily lessons and various website links to support your child’s learning at home.  All pupils will have been issued with a personal email address to use, in the event of the whole class being sent home.  Details of this new communication tool using Microsoft Teams will be sent home in a separate letter.
The Reception team look forward to working with you all – take care and stay safe.
God Bless all of you.
Mrs Quiney, Miss Gill and Miss Searle

Our Learning

You can view further information about our learning and curriculum plans by visiting the Curriculum Section of our website.

We will be adding further information in the Autumn Term 2020.

Phonic Cards

Your child is very excited to be bringing home some phonics cards and letter formation sheets that cover the sounds we have learnt in class this week. Please be assured that they have been sat in quarantine before being handed out. These are resources that your child can build up as a bank of resources to be used at home and DO NOT need to be sent back into school. Every week we will be sending the latest sounds/ formation sheets etc home. Please do keep the cards together in their little wallet as they are an invaluable resource for consolidation activities. Under normal circumstances we would normally invite you all to a Reception class workshop and discuss the following over a cup of tea or coffee. Unfortunately, this is not currently possible hence the rather lengthy letter that is attached below.
