Welcome to Nursery
EYFS Christmas Performance
As a school, we would have loved to share this year’s Christmas events with you all but unfortunately that has not been possible. The children still wanted to perform some Christmas songs for families and friends this year. You will have received a text message which contains a link to each performance on our secure YouTube channel. Merry Christmas from everyone at St. Joseph’s.
Home Learning- Monday 06.12.21
Good morning children. Please find today’s tasks via your Class Dojo site.
We are delighted to announce that our Governor led nursery is now open. From the 14th September 2020 until October half term we have offered 15hours per pupil however from 4th November we are now thrilled to say that we are able to offer a full 30-hour provision.
Nursery is open to children in the term following their 3rd birthday up to a maximum of 5 terms. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, priority will be given to children who require 30 hours each, however all those who started in Sept 2020 will keep their place, even if they only want 15hours for the school year. In the first half term the 15 hours per week runs from Monday to Friday 9am – 12noon, but the new 30-hour provision will run from 9am – 3pm Monday – Friday.
Please note that a place at the nursery unit DOES NOT guarantee your child a Reception place in school in September 2021, you MUST follow the usual Reception application procedure and apply for a place through the DCC round which closes in early Jan 2021. For further information and to register your child’s details please contact the school office on 01207 232624. A picture of how the new nursery will look can be found via the following link:
For Nursery pupils and your parents/carers,
Welcome to another new year in school. I am the delighted and proud class teacher of Nursery and I look forward to working with you all over the coming year. We have lots of fabulous books for you to read and some fascinating topics to learn about. This year, you will be taught by myself Mrs Hull, Miss Gill and Mrs Scott.
As a team, we look forward to working with all of the pupils in Nursery. All the previous teaching and learning resources are also still on the school website in the COVID-19 update section under the year group name. We have now uploaded a copy of the annual Curriculum Plan for 2020-2021 and then each half term we are uploading a half termly Isolation Project task supportive learning plan for parents to use at home, if their child needs to isolate.
In the event of your class bubble being sent home for a 14-day isolation period, then I will upload weekly plans with daily lessons and various website links to support your child’s learning at home. All pupils will have been issued with a personal email address to use, in the event of the whole class being sent home. Teaching staff will be available to answer Teaching and Learning questions via email from 9am-10:30am and from 1pm-2:30pm ONLY if your class bubble is all at home, details of this new communication tool using Microsoft Teams will be sent home in a separate letter.
The Nursery team look forward to working with you all – take care and stay safe. God Bless all of you.
Mrs Hull, Miss Gill and Mrs Scott
