Premium Allocations

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and in 2012–13 individual schools were allocated funding for children from low-income families who were eligible for free school meals, looked after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces. At St. Joseph’s we use the Pupil Premium to accelerate progress for our pupils and break down barriers to this progress. We pride ourselves on supporting our students to maximise their potential.

The pupil premium statement for 2021-22 (including the evaluation of spend for 2020-21) is being developed in line with new guidance from the Department for Education and will be added to the website shortly. Please contact school if you have any queries in the interim.

Sports Premium

The Government is providing funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013/14 and 2014/15 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

Our Primary School Sport’s Funding will enable us to

  • Undertake CPD (Continued Professional Development) with our staff to ensure the delivery of high quality PE throughout the school
  • Extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals
  • Increase pupils participation in competitive events, school games and festivals
  • Increase the number of children taking part in sport by offering an increased range of extra-curricular activities

You can view or download our Sports Premium allocation and find out how this has been used at our school.

  • Sports Premium Action Plan 2021-2022 September

Please find the sports premium action plans and reviews from previous years in the PE and Sport section of the site.
